The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Friday's Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

Clay Buchholz (15-5, 2.21 ERA) Boston Red Sox
The Sox didn’t win the last time Buchholz toed the rubber but you can’t blame the young righty for that. He gave up just one earned run in 7 1/3 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. He’s allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight starts.

The under is 3-0 in his last three outings while the Sox are 8-2 in his last 10 appearances. Even better, he wasn’t listed higher than a -153 favorite in any of those games.

Matt Garza (13-5, 3.53 ERA) Tampa Bay Rays

Garza is 2-0 with a 0.83 ERA over his last three starts and his best outing may have been his last when he held the Red Sox to one run but got a no-decision.

The right-hander has lasted seven innings or more and thrown at least 100 pitches in each of his last three starts with 16 strikeouts to six walks during that stretch.

Garza has enjoyed success at Baltimore, going 5-0 lifetime at Camden Yards.

Slumping

Barry Zito (8-10, 4.17) San Francisco Giants

Zito would have been the first man in the shower in his last two starts except for the fact that he barely broke a sweat. He has lasted a career-low 3 2/3 innings during both starts and allowed 12 earned runs in those brief appearances.

Zito hasn't won a game since July 16, going 0-7 in his last eight starts plus one relief appearance. The lefty could be headed for the bullpen if he doesn't turn it around soon. He is 25-14 with a 3.72 ERA in the month of September.

Fausto Carmona (11-13, 4.19 ERA) Cleveland Indians

It's been over a month now since Carmona last tasted victory, dropping five consecutive starts and allowing 43 hits and 21 earned runs during that 31 1/3-inning span.

The Tribe has provided a total of only 13 runs in support in those five games, but Carmona hasn't exactly been putting himself in position to get a win either.

HOT LINES

Friday's Best MLB Bets

Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees (-150, 9)

The Blue Jays are shutting down Brandon Morrow after tonight's start. It's a shame because the 26-year-old left-hander was just beginning to show how good he can be.

Morrow already has pitched more than double the number of innings he did in his first three seasons in the league so the Jays wisely don't want to risk unnecessary strain on his arm.

"I understand what they’re trying to do," Morrow said after getting the news Sunday, one day after beating the Tigers for his 10th win. "They had the club’s and my best interest in mind. I’m not going to argue."

Morrow has not taken a loss since June 29, going 5-0 in his last eight starts. The Jays are 7-1 in their last eight starts, including a game played last week in Toronto when he outdueled Yankees rookie Ivan Nova.

Nova picked up his first career win against the White Sox in his last start, but he also committed a rookie mistake against the Jays when he threw high and inside to Toronto's Jose Bautista.

The Jays will be looking to get even, Morrow will be looking to go out on a high note and bettors can look for some value.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays

Los Angeles Angels at Oakland Athletics (-180, 7.5)

Speaking of value, the best money-making opportunity of the day may be the Halos, who have won 12 of their last 17 games in Oakland and had a day off Thursday.

The A's could have used the break after a brutal 10-game road swing that sent them cross-country to Cleveland, halfway back to Texas and then all the way to New York. They flew home after yesterday's series sweep by the Yankees.

The A's were on a roll midway through the trip thanks to their starting pitching's streak of 18 quality (and quantity) starts, but that unit appeared to fatigue from overuse in New York. Dallas Braden's early exit from Thursday's game is a prime example.

Oakland's Gio Gonzales has been hot recently and L.A.'s Scott Kazmir has not, but the Halos lefty has enjoyed success against the A's. After getting hammered in his last meeting against the A's he is 9-4 for his career against the AL West rivals.

The A's are batting just .239 against lefties in their last 10 starts and the Conor Jackson, Eric Chavez and Adam Rosalas remain on the DL. The rest of their roster is on the FL (fatigued list).

Pick: LA Angels

CFB Betting Preview

Arizona at Toledo Preview

Arizona head coach Mike Stoops went into the 2008 campaign on the hot seat. In his first five years of a major rebuilding project, the Wildcats had yet to taste a bowl bid.

Fast forward to the present and Stoops has job security after taking his program to back-to-back bowl games. Not only that, but he has his best chance to send Arizona to the Rose Bowl for the first time in school history. That’s right, the Wildcats are the only Pac-10 program that’s never been to Pasadena.

With Oregon’s problems at the quarterback position and USC out of the Rose Bowl mix, there’s no doubt that the Pac-10 is wide open and right there for the taking.

Stoops and Co. open the 2010 campaign on the road Friday night at The Glass Bowl, facing Toledo from out of the Mid-American Conference. As of early Thursday morning, most books had Arizona favored by 16 with a total of 60 or 60 ½. Not all betting shops are offering money-line prices, but the ones that are have the Rockets available to win outright for a plus-600 return (risk $100 to win $600).

Arizona returns eight starters on offense and four on defense. The Wildcats finished 8-5 straight up and 6-5-1 against the spread in 2009, but they were clubbed 33-0 by Nebraska at the Holiday Bowl.

Junior quarterback Nick Foles, a transfer from Michigan St., turned out to be a serious find as the replacement for Arizona’s all-time leading passer, Willie Tuitama. Foles posted a 19/9 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the first 10 starts of his career.

Foles is one of eight starters returning on offense, including just about all of his skill players with the exception of WR Delashaun Dean, who has transferred after making 42 catches in 2009. But Juron Criner (45 receptions for 582 yards and nine TDs) and David Roberts (43 catches) are back, in addition to William ‘Bug’ Wright (23 catches).

The backfield has plenty of experience as well. Nic Grigsby will be the featured back after he missed five games last year with an injury. Grigsby was averaging 7.2 yards per carry before getting banged up in ’09. In 21 career starts, he has netted 1,857 rushing yards. Keola Antolin will get his share of touches behind Grigsby, too. Antolin rushed for more than 600 yards and had four TDs last season.

If Stoops has a concern about this team, it’s on the defensive side of the ball. However, we should note that defense is his area of coaching expertise. But this until returns just four starters and will be without eight of its 11 leading tacklers from last year.

Tim Beckman’s first team at Toledo went 5-7 both SU and ATS, losing four of their last five games both SU and ATS. As a home underdog on Beckman’s watch, the Rockets twice won outright against Colorado and Northern Illinois.

Toledo bring back six starters on each side of the ball. QB Aaron Opelt has run out of eligibility and sophomore Austin Dantin beat out Alex Pettee for the starting job in August.

Dantin made three starts as a true freshman, completing 79-of-119 attempts (66.4%) for 962 yards with four touchdown passes and four interceptions. He is a product of Tallahassee Leon High School, the same program that produced former NFL players like Tony Lomack, Brad Culpepper, Terry Mickens, Clifford Charlton and Tamarick Vanover.

Dantin might have the best WR in the MAC in Eric Page, a sophomore who had more receptions and receiving yards that any other freshman wideout last season. Page hauled in 82 receptions for 1,159 yards and seven touchdowns.

Morgan Williams will get the bulk of the work on the ground for Toledo. Williams was a third-team All-MAC selection as a redshirt freshman in ’08, rushing for more than 1,000 yards and averaging 6.0 YPC. However, injuries slowed him down last year when he got just a pair of starts and 74 carries. Williams is hoping to return to the form he showed in ’08.

The ‘under’ cashed at a 6-1 clip for Arizona in its last seven of games of last season.

Arizona has only been a road favorite seven times in Stoops’ six previous years on the job. The Wildcats are 2-4-1 ATS in those seven situations.

ESPN will provide television coverage at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

**B.E.’s Bonus Nuggets**

After this season-opening road game at Toledo, Arizona won’t go on the road again until an Oct. 16 trip to Washington St. The Wildcats have four straight home games against The Citadel, Iowa, California and Oregon St., not to mention an open date on Oct. 2.

Toledo cornerback Daxton Swanson enjoyed an excellent freshman year last season, making 31 tackles and leading the team in passes broken up with seven. However, after off-season shoulder surgery, Swanson didn’t report to training camp and will apparently transfer to another school.

Toledo has thrived when hosting BCS schools since 2001. In fact, the Rockets have won five of six games outright with the lone loss coming to Purdue in 2007. They demolished Colorado by a 54-38 count on ESPN in a Friday game last year that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score indicated. They also knocked off Kansas in double overtime back in ’06. I remember because I was on the Jayhawks plus 4 ½, only to suffer a chafe loss after a pair of extra sessions.

UNC has announced the indefinitely suspension of DE Marvin Austin, who was a preseason All-American candidate. A slew of media outlets, including VegasInsider.com, had been expecting this suspension along with several others to key defensive players for the Tar Heels. Nothing had been announced (other than Austin) as of early Thursday afternoon, but more suspensions are expected. In fact, ESPN’s Joe Schad reported late Wednesday night that UNC might be without as many as 16 total players against LSU on Saturday night at the Georgia Dome.

What Bettors Need To Know: Arizona At Toledo

Arizona Wildcats at Toledo Rockets (+16.5, 60.5)

Love it or hate it, college football on a night traditionally reserved for high schools is here to stay. And the first Friday feature game has the Arizona Wildcats traveling across country, to take on the Toledo Rockets (ESPN 8 p.m. ET).

Rose-Colored Glasses

The beginning of the Mike Stoops era at Arizona wasn’t pretty. It began with back-to-back 3-8 seasons which were then followed by two mediocre campaigns. And, as is the norm in college football, the “Fire Mike Stoops” websites and Facebook groups emerged. Thankfully the administration in Tucson stuck with their head coach.

The Wildcats ended their 10-year bowl slump in 2008 and then put in an impressive 2009, which saw them beat USC on the road. In fact, were it not for a couple of close defeats, one of them being a heartbreaking double-OT loss to Oregon, they would have won the Pac-10 title.

Now in his seventh year, more is expected from Mike Stoops than a bowl birth. Arizona is the only team in the Pac-10 that hasn’t gone to the Rose Bowl and 2010 looks like the school’s best shot in its 111-year history.

Several key starters return on offense including junior quarterback Nick Foles and senior running back Nic Grigsby. Last year, Foles had the second highest completion rate in the Pac-10 at 63.4 percent, while Grigsby added 10 pounds of muscle in the summer and has been impressive in training camp.

The big concern for the Wildcats is at defense, where they only return four starters. However, a talented group of recruits will replace those spots, one of them being high-profile JuCo transfer Derek Earls who will start at middle linebacker.

Glass Half Full Or Completely Empty?

A visit to the Glass Bowl won’t be easy for the Wildcats. Of the last six BCS schools to visit Toledo, only one has come out with a victory. The Rockets return All-American freshman receiver Eric Page, who led all first year players in the NCAA with 82 receptions and 1159 yards.

Unfortunately, he appears to be the Rockets’ only threat on offense which even second-year head coach Tim Beckman admitted.

“The toughest thing for Eric is we don’t have the weapons around him, he is the one that’s returning, .. He’s got to play well for us to be successful,” Beckman told reporters.

Tossing him the ball, will be new starter Austin Dantin. The sophomore saw some playing time last year when Aaron Opelt was injured. However, Beckman did suggest earlier this week that he won’t be the only one taking snaps.

“You will see all the quarterbacks in the Arizona game,” Beckman said. “David (Pasquale) got his package that we do and Terrance Owens is still in the hunt for taking snaps.”

Whether or not that is part of the gameplan or simply anticipation of a blowout is up for interpretation.

For Toledo to remain competitive in this game it will need to spread the ball around effectively to keep the Arizona secondary honest. Future NFL safety Robert Golden will have his eye on Page for the whole game, so it is important for one or two players on Toledo’s offense to surprise.

Line and trends

The line opened up at -14.5 in favor of the Wildcats and has since moved up to -16.5 at some sportsbooks. Arizona has been a favorite on the road six times in the last two years and it is only 1-4-1 ATS in those games.

Toledo last played Arizona in Tucson, where it failed to cover the 23-point spread in a 41-16 loss. Three times last year the Rockets were listed as underdogs by 10 points or more, and in all three games they failed to cover the spread.

Arizona does have the talent to win this game by more than two touchdowns. However, Page will most likely play the entire game regardless of the score. This will no doubt play a key factor in a possible backdoor cover, if the game is an early blowout.

Rain, Rain, Rain

A shootout is expected with the total at 60.5 but weather will have an impact in this game. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are in the forecast.

CFL Betting Preview

B.C. Lions vs. Montreal Alouettes Preview

The Alouettes are the cream of the crop in the CFL, and they look to continue their intense brand of football at home against the B.C. Lions in what should be a great matchup. On paper, it looks like the Alouettes could run away with this one considering that B.C. has only one win this season. However, don't be too quick to count the Lions out of this game, as this season has proved that anything can happen in the CFL. At the end of the day, Montreal has to cover too many points for comfort, so bettingonlinebetting is going to take the UNDER as the Bonus Bet selection for Friday night.

B.C. is having a hard time deciding between two quarterbacks who have played pretty equally, for the most part, this season. Travis Lulay and Casey Printers both are performing adequately with neither one really doing much in the way of helping the Lions get victories. Lulay has the higher completion percentage, but his touchdown-to-interception ratio is pretty bad. Printers, on the other hand, is completing only 53% of his passes, but he is much more careful with the football than Lulay is. They do have two excellent receivers to throw the ball to in Geroy Simon and Emmanuel Arceneaux. Both players are averaging over 14 yards per catch, and they are two bright spots on a team that doesn't necessarily have a great deal of highlight players to begin with. The Lions' struggles on offense is the underlying reason behind this free wager game going UNDER the total.

Even at age 38, Anthony Calvillo is still showing that he can lead a CFL team to a Grey Cup victory if given the opportunity. Calvillo has looked exceptional all season long by completing 70% of his passes for 17 touchdowns against only three interceptions. His favorite targets have been Kerry Watkins and Jamel Richardson, although he has been slinging the ball all over the field this season. In fact, the Alouettes have six receivers that have eclipsed 200 receiving yards in the first eight games of the season. Chip Cox and Jerald Brown lead a defense that has to be considered amongst the best in the Canadian Football League. Both men have two interceptions, and Cox checks in with 39 tackles so far this year. The play of Shea Emry has also been a hot topic of conversation, as the 24-year old continues to impress both coaches and fans with his outstanding play. While it is a forgone conclusion that Montreal will win this game, the scoreboard will not show a lot of points at the end of the game. This means that the UNDER is the correct Bonus Bet play in Montreal.

Two pretty stout defenses will take the field on the night of September 3rd, and it will be interesting to see exactly how B.C. handles a very capable Montreal defensive unit. With Calvillo leading the way offensively, Montreal should have a pretty easy time with the Lions. However, bettingonlinebetting foresees it being a low scoring affair, which is the reason behind making a play on the UNDER for your free wager.

Friday's Best CFL Bets

B.C. Lions (1-7) at Montreal Alouettes (6-2)

The Lions limp into Montreal, where the Als have been nearly unbeatable under head coach Marc Trestman. The good news for B.C.? Als quarterback Anthony Calvillo is out, recovering from the bruised sternum he suffered on Aug. 19. In his place, Chris Leak gets his first CFL start. The former University of Florida star is no stranger to pressure, having led the Gators to a U.S. college championship during his senior year. The Lions couldn't match Calgary's talent a week ago, and were steamrolled in the second half. Casey Printers makes his second consecutive start for B.C. after completing just 10 of 26 passes last week, while running for his life much of the game.

Pick: Montreal Alouettes

Bettors' Best Friend (BBF): Friday's Wagering Tips

Lines Off The Board

Villanove at Temple: Total is off the board with Hurricane Earl expected to bring heavy winds and rain.

Lines To Keep An Eye On

Braves at Marlins: Total opened at 9 but has risen to 9.5.

Arizona at Toledo: Arizona opened as a 12.5 favorite but are now listed at -16 at most books. Total has climbed from 58.5 to 60.5.

Weather To Watch

Hurricane Earl has taken a more easterly track, likely sparing the mid-Atlantic from heavy winds and rains, and also has increased in speed, meaning it should blow through the New England area late Friday night instead of Saturday morning. That's good news for college games such as Weber State at Boston College, but could effect baseball games in New York and Boston.

Blue Jays at Yankees: 20 percent chance of rain.

Mets at Cubs: Winds forecast to blow out to right/center field at 21 mph.

Nationals at Pirates: 40 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Braves at Marlins: 30 percent chance of thunderstorms.

White Sox at Red Sox: 70 percent chance of showers. Winds blowing out to left/center at 16 mph.

Who's Hot

Astros are 9-2 in their last 11 (but 1-7 in last eight vs. Diamondbacks)

Reds are 6-1 in their last seven.

Nationals have won five in a row over Nationals.

Phillies and Twins are 5-1 in their last six.

Braves have won five in a row.

Who's Not

Cardinals are 1-8 in their last nine.

Orioles are 1-8 in Kevin Millwoods's last nine starts.

Padres have lost seven in a row.

Pirates are 1-5 in their last six.

White Sox are 2-8 in last 10 in Boston.

Key Stat

6-20 - The Tampa Bay Rays' record this season in Friday games. The Rays are 31 games above .500 overall and 76-31 in games not played on Fridays.

Injury That Shouldn't Be Overlooked

New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher exited Thursday's game against Oakland with left knee stiffness and is questonable for today's series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays. Swisher grounded out in his first at-bat in the first inning, but did not come out to play the field in the top of the second. Curtis Granderson replaced Swisher, who is scheduled to undergo tests on the injury, and may do the same today. Swisher is batting .295 with 25 home runs and 80 RBIs.

Game Of The Day

Texas Rangers at Minnesota Twins (-130, 9.5)

Notable Quotable

"Going to bars - treating women like that; oh my God. I pray they don't cut [his NFL suspension] to four games. I hope they leave it at six. There is no excuse for that. The egos get out of hand."

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and Terry Bradshaw told the Shreveport (La.) Times about current Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's request to reduce his six-game suspension.

Tips And Notes

The Atlanta Braves have been forced to juggle their rotation. Veteran right-hander Derek Lowe will miss tonight's scheduled start due to lingering pain near his right elbow. Former fifth starter Kenshin Kawakami, who was recalled on Tuesday, will make the spot start against the Florida Marlins. The move may be permanent if there's no improvement by Lowe, who has posted an 11-12 mark with a 4.53 ERA. The Braves are 0-8 in Kawakami's last eight road starts.

The New York Yankees have a logjam among their starting rotation now that Javier Vazquez and Andy Pettitte are coming back. Vazquez will pitch Saturday against the Blue Jays. He went 2-2 with a 6.69 ERA in his first seven starts after the All-Star break, prompting manager Joe Girardi to yank him from the rotation for rookie Ivan Nova. Vazquez will replace Dustin Moseley, who returns to long relief, and Nova will remain in the rotation, at least until Pettitte returns. Taking pressure of Girardi and the starting staff is the fact that the Yankees' lineup has provided 21 home runs in their last nine games.

North Carolina coach Butch Davis has suspended senior defensive tackle Marvin Austin indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules and as many as 16 fellow Tar Heels also may face similar punishments before Saturday's game against LSU. Davis said the disciplinary action against Austin is not related to the ongoing NCAA investigation into whether the standout tackle and another player received improper benefits from an agent. Austin had 42 tackles and four sacks as a junior. Keep one eye on the disciplinary report and another on the line. The Tigers are currently 6.5-point favorites.

Hondo

The Tigers performed heroically for Hondo last night, rallying and then working extra hard in Minny to slash the deficit to 1,885 gernerts.

Tonight, Mr. Aitch expects Bronson to bring it against his arch-enemy in St. Louis -- 10 units on the Reds.
